Our Story
Wantsum Productions is the brainchild of Annalee and Oskar Gibbons. They had both been involved in the Thanet musical theatre scene for many years and when a local society came to an end, they decided to start up a new venture with a focus on engagement and enjoyment for its members, and high class productions for its audiences.
Teaming up with Rhea Woodward completed the trio of creatives behind Wantsum Productions, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in their specialist fields.

We have been operating since 2023 and have so far presented four shows with plenty more in the pipeline.

We are lucky to have access to a wonderfully equipped theatre space for our performances with ample parking. This is also where we rehearse when preparing for shows so it very quickly feels like home for our members.

No manic tech get-ins or last minute stage builds working against the clock for us. We have our own in-house engineers creating a very relaxed atmosphere for everyone involved, allowing the team and cast to focus on the enjoyment of what we're all there for - to put on the best shows we can.

Annalee Gibbons
Annalee is passionate about performing, having come up through the ranks of Welsh Youth Opera to studying music at university and moving into the role of musical director and producer in recent years for shows such as ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘We Will Rock You’, ‘Grease’ and ’Six’ to name a few . Her in-depth knowledge of managing every element required for a production is firmly behind the success of everything she does.
Oskar Gibbons
Oskar grew up around analogue recording studios and has been immersed in the world of signal flow and system design from an early age and started mixing live sound from the age of 15 for a range of bands and events. He gained a BA (Hons) in Popular Music and Technology and continued to work as a freelance sound engineer and recording engineer. Working alongside many lighting engineers over the years has allowed him to develop an understanding of this very different discipline.
Rhea Woodward
Rhea started performing at a very young age with the Marchington Singers. She went on to study a diploma in performing arts at college leading to becoming a vocalist at a well known holiday company where she spent 6 wonderful years. Rhea had been a member of another local amateur theatre company performing ensemble and lead roles for over 20 years. In 2022 Rhea choreographed ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and made her directing debut with ‘Evita’. Rhea thoroughly enjoys choreographing for ‘Wantsum Productions’ and being a part of the creative team.
